Categorizing and organizing publications on your website can greatly enhance the user experience and make it easier for visitors to find the content they need.
The Presbytery of Transylvania represents 63 churches across Appalachian Kentucky. As a governing body, one of their most important responsibilities is documenting quarterly meetings with meticulous minutes, all of which must be organized and easily accessible in perpetuity – no small feat.

After building a website for them in 2017, they came back to us in 2024 for a new and improved version. We knew that well-organized digital files would be a primary focus of the new build.
Using the publications plug-in we designed to help clients organize files, the staff can easily upload resources and documents onto one central platform. Time-saving filters allow the content to automatically appear on the appropriate pages of their website. Updates are also simplified across documents, as they only have to be done once to affect each place the content appears. Automations like these make record-keeping easier for the staff to perform and maintain.
Combining the website’s events calendaring system with our publications tool, the presbytery is able to upload documents for future meetings as they become available. This allows all attendees easy access to everything they need to prepare for upcoming meetings. Once the meeting is over, the documents and minutes are then simply archived online.
Because the presbytery is proud of its Appalachian heritage, they also wanted the new site to reflect the geographical region they represent. All 63 churches are listed and linked on the website, complete with color photos showcasing the beauty, history and architecture of each building. A live map plots each address, visually demonstrating the impact this presbytery has across central and eastern Kentucky.
Several ministries are also highlighted, with updated and easy-to-navigate pages devoted to each. A popular youth camp, church development and revitalization outreach, and flood recovery efforts are some of the missions spotlighted.
We are proud to have created another fresh, functional new website that will help the Presbytery of Transylvania continue to serve the people of Appalachian Kentucky.
In addition, we are excited to have two other related websites in the works for this organization:
One is a pastor-booking site that will allow users to connect with active and retired ministers available to help the public. There will be a list of services offered, including church management, conflict resolution, substitute preachers, eulogies, weddings and more. Participating pastors can create and maintain their own bios, complete with photo, contact information, geographic range, ministerial experience and current offerings.
The other site is being developed in collaboration with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, and will showcase mission opportunities. Groups and individuals looking to serve can access a list of active hosts to learn about the location, amenities, costs, and needs of each one. They will be able to get contact details, request more information, and even book a trip directly on the site.
All three sites are full of exciting new tools that will support the work of the Presbytery of Transylvania for years to come.
