February 9, 2021 by Michael Gyura

Here is the start to your readymade Lent 2021 resources. With the chaos of 2020 behind us, we wanted to make this year’s Lenten season as easy as possible. Follow the step-by-step directions below to begin Lent 2021 on the right foot.

The first thing you will want to do is select which Lent 2021 image fits your community best. Click on the image in the gallery below, open the image in a new tab, and then save that image. This will ensure that you have the largest file size possible.

Don’t forget to tag us @worshiptimes or use the hashtag #readymadelent on social media. We’d love to see how you use the materials.

Shrove Tuesday – FEAST

The next step is to select which images you would like to use for Mardi Gras, or Shrove Tuesday, if your community so desires. Follow the same steps to download hi-resolution images.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://worshiptimes.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/10.png” title_text=”10″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”13497,13498,13499,13500,13501,13502,13503,13504,13505″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”3_5,2_5″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”]

Shrove Tuesday Prayer

Holy God, on this day before the start of Lent, we come before You to repent, to turn around, to turn back to you. We confess our sins so that we are spiritually ready for Ash Wednesday and the next forty days of following You. Some of us may even be preparing our homes by feasting on things we are about to abstain from. Bless our intentions to prepare for Lent, Oh Lord. We want to understand a little more fully the cost of discipleship this Lenten season. Amen.

Communal Action

Pancake/Waffle Party – over zoom if need be!

Verse To Know

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” – James 5:16

Ash Wednesday – LIVE

And the same for Ash Wednesday.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://worshiptimes.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/19.png” _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”13508,13509,13510,13511,13512,13513,13506″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”3_5,2_5″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.8.2″ _module_preset=”default”]

Ash Wednesday Prayer

Lord Jesus, You held nothing back from us as you came, lived, died, and rose again. This Ash Wednesday, we want to hold nothing back from You. Help us to live our life in light of our death. Teach us the secret of life: to die to ourselves before our earthly death. For in getting the dying out of the way, we can get on with living the abundant life You promised us here and now. Bless our Lenten journey, O Lord, as we try to give alms, pray, and fast in the way You taught us. Amen.

Communal Action

Ashes – consider how you are giving out ashes this year. Drive through with safety precautions, mail or front porch drop off, share the words and the power of this act. You may also consider anointing small bottles of oil if you choose a porch drop method of delivery.

Verse To Know

“But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face…” – Matthew 6:17
