Announcement Sliders
Announcement sliders allow you to prominently display important announcements, upcoming events, or special messages at the top of your website’s homepage or any location.
When St. Luke’s Episcopal Church came to us for a new website late in 2024, they didn’t realize just how much they needed one.
Following initial consultations, we began the technical work necessary to build the pages. Shortly after switching name servers, their old site crashed and became completely non-operational. We discovered some underlying problems the church had been unaware of, and error messages in archived captures of their home page. We were able to show them what we found, explaining that their site had had issues and vulnerabilities for a long time.
With the church’s trust, encouragement, and cooperation, we rushed to complete the new build and had their beautiful site live in record time – about one month.
Fortunately, the church liaison was communicative and responsive, making the quick turnaround possible. They wanted a complete design change, and had a list of six websites to illustrate features they liked. We decided on a staggered layout for the homepage, with slightly overlapping text blocks, giving it a unique appearance that leads the reader naturally down the page.
They also provided lots of gorgeous photography, full of happy members engaged in worship, acts of service, and fellowship. These allowed us to showcase their welcoming and friendly community on every page. This congregation is blessed with an architecturally interesting and beautiful building, too. Bright, clear images of the sanctuary and stone exterior invite users to explore further.
Even though the previous site had also been based on WordPress, the platform used by Worship Times, we still provided our comprehensive training post-build. We reinforced concepts they already knew, and offered helpful new tips and tricks. There’s always more to learn!
Now, the St. Luke’s site is on our secure network, and is functioning beautifully to support the life of this vibrant church.
