A few weeks ago, we posted regarding changes to Facebook’s Live video archiving. You may have recently received an email with similar information and steps to download and save your videos before they are gone.
Facebook is changing how it handles storage for Facebook Live videos. As of February 19, any Live videos you post will only stick around for 30 days by default. During that time, you’ll still be able to watch, delete, or download them. But after those 30 days, they’ll be automatically deleted from your Page and Facebook’s servers—gone for good.
To help with the transition, Facebook is giving you until June 24 to download any Live videos that were published before February 19. After that, those older videos will also be deleted.
If you’ve got past Lives you want to keep, now’s the time to grab them. You can find the download options in your Facebook settings.
