What is WordCamp? “WordCamp is a community-organized conference dedicated to WordPress, a popular open-source platform used to create websites and blogs. It’s a place for WordPress enthusiasts, users, developers, designers, and other participants to network, share ideas, and learn about WordPress.”
Michael and Susan Gyura were honored to participate this year in Portland, OR. With a four-day packed schedule, they attended keynotes, sessions, workshops, and networking sessions to help us hone our skills, discover new tools and make connections to help our partners and deliver the best communications services Worship Times can.
Some of the sessions included how marine biologists utilize WordPress in their work with data processing and visualization, several sessions on AI, AI’s use in web development including pros and cons, and the difference in responsive and fluid design, to name a few.
It was also an opportunity for Worship Times to connect with our newest partners in the WordPress world.
Worship Times has recently entered a partnership with Automattic’s A4A program, Automattic 4 Agencies. Automattic was founded in 2005 by Matt Mullenweg. They develop and manage tools for the web that include WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Pressable, and Jetpack. The company operates in over 70 countries and emphasizes a collaborative culture and an open-source philosophy involving community contributions.
In addition to our partnership in the A4A program, Director, Mary Voelker, and our Automattic representative, Kyle Runner, we’ve also partnered with Pressable. Pressable is a managed WordPress hosting provider offering scalable services for agencies and businesses. Their goal is to empower freelancers, developers, web designers, and business owners to build and launch amazing WordPress sites instead of dealing with servers and hosting issues.

“This time at WordCamp was not only a great learning experience (as it always is), we also got to connect with some amazing people. Our new partnership with Automatic is allowing us to serve our partners even better than before with more robust tools, an insider voice, and connections with the team responsible for the base software we use. It’s a new age for Worship Times and I’m excited for what we will be launching soon,” shared Michael Gyura, Worship Times President.
WordCampUS 2026 has been announced to take place in Phoenix, AZ, August 16-19.
This event is for WordPress users of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced developers and designers. The events also draw agencies and freelancers offering WordPress-related services, along with community organizers, volunteers, and contributors to the WordPress open-source project. WordCamp US, in particular, brings together people from around the world, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where professionals, enthusiasts, and newcomers can network, learn, and share their expertise.
