St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg, Maryland, is a congregation with a big heart for its town. Through its Love for Children ministry, weekly worship, and online livestream, the church stays closely connected to its neighbors. Its website, though, had been pieced together over the years. Like a lot of churches, St. Paul’s needed a website that was easy to manage, looked consistent, and truly belonged to the church.

A Trusted Introduction

St. Paul’s came to Worship Times through the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, which has partnered with Worship Times for more than ten years. By the time the introduction was made, the church’s rector had already done prep work with the vestry, and St. Paul’s was ready to build.

That preparation made all the difference. The church kept a shared content spreadsheet and gathered photos and page details. Pages were reviewed and approved quickly, and the project moved from first contact to launch in about two and a half months, ahead of schedule at every stage.

A Site Built Around the Visitor

The new site puts people first. A welcome video from the rector greets visitors on the homepage, and real photography of the church, the congregation, and its ministries gives prospective members a genuine feel for the community before they ever walk through the door.

Navigation was simplified into a handful of clear paths, including I’m New, Worship, Ministries, Leadership, Calendar, and Contact Us. The I’m New page gently walks first-time guests through what to expect on a Sunday morning, so no one has to feel unsure about walking in.

Everything Members Need on Sunday

The Worship page brings the essentials into one place. Livestream and Bulletin buttons sit side by side at the top. The Bulletin button was added at the church’s request after they noticed just how many people rely on it each week. A list of recent worship videos makes it easy to catch up on a missed Sunday, and a new Leadership page introduces the rector, staff, and vestry with photos and contact information.

Giving a Ministry Room to Shine

One of the most meaningful parts of the new site is the space it gives St. Paul’s outreach. Love for Children, a ministry now in its sixth year, serves kids in Sharpsburg and the surrounding area through a summer food program, winter clothing, school supplies, and a Thanksgiving Blessing program shared with other local churches. Working alongside Sharpsburg Elementary School, the ministry puts every donation directly toward helping local children.

Now the ministry has a dedicated page that explains what it does, why it matters, and how anyone in the community can help.

Easy to Keep Current

Behind the scenes, St. Paul’s now has a site that is organized and fully its own, and the church’s web presence lives under a single address managed through church accounts. A rotating homepage banner highlights what’s coming up next, from Sunday School to special celebrations, and the church calendar lives right on the website. After a training session with Worship Times, the church team is able to keep everything up to date themselves. Online giving was set up as well, so members and visitors can support St. Paul’s and its ministries right from the Donate page.

Today, St. Paul’s has a website that welcomes visitors the way its congregation does: warmly, clearly, and with an open door.
